Native from Montreal, Claire Lemaître-Auger is predominantly a self-taught Fashion Designer whose journey over 30 years, has been filled with personal and professional experiences that have shaped and transformed her work and inspiration.
In 1984 Claire studied patternmaking at College Lasalle and started to make micro-collections for friends, also fashion illustration and window dressing. In 1994, she married the famous french Singer and Producer Mario Pelchat, and started designing for the artistic scene. From 2000-05, she worked in sales with European designers at Holt Renfrew and Ogilvy’s. In 2005-06, Claire confirmed her talent by working with famous Montreal Designer Denis Gagnon. In 2008, Claire won the “Audience Award” at a school contest by creating a modern times Jeanne D’Arc. In 2008 Claire consecrated her entire time and energy in order to implant a vineyard with her husband Mario. Having grown up between urban and rural life, and still today, these 2 lifestyles simultaneously influence her inspiration.
In 2017, Claire Lemaître-Auger comes back to Fashion through a Fashion Designer National Contest “TFI’s New Labels Competition” held in Toronto. Claire was among the 5 finalists and the winner of the "RBC First Runner up Award".
She continues to build her own Label, a sensitive and poetic Brand that reveals itself in a perfect blend of rustic and elegant fabrics in order to adapt to a woman’s Epic. Natural materials such as linens, silks, cottons, wools and leathers are therefore her preference.
