6 HAIR TRENDS FOR FALL 2017 AT TW

With hundreds of breathtakingly beautiful clothes, it’s hard to notice anything else in the room. However, the REDKEN team made sure that the hairstyles demanded their own spotlight.

Here are 6 hair trends we saw for Fall 2017 at Toronto Women’s Fashion Week:

1. THE SUPER CURLY

REDKEN raised the volume with this wild look. Get ready to see big bouncy curls, and untamed manes everywhere this season. The au naturel movement is here to stay and it is the perfect opportunity to show off your natural curls. To keep the curls going, set your hair with a thickening spray.

2. SUPER SLEEK

We saw big bouncy curls, but we also saw hair so straight our 15-year-old self would be totally jealous of.

The key to mastering this super smooth look is about achieving the perfect blow dry. Blow dry your hair from root to tip with the airflow pointing down, this will smooth down the hair from the cuticles and get that extra shine. Only then, use your straightener if need. You can play around with the parting to suit the shape of your face.

3. SLICKED-BACK WET STYLE

This graphic-meets-sleek look is dramatic and all about shiny, sopping wet hair. We saw this trend in the runway and we are sure we will be just as likely to see it IRL this year.

To achieve this simple look, simply blow dry your hair as you would do to achieve a dry sleek hair look (as we mentioned above) and then work with styling cream from the roots to mid-lengths -increase the dose as you see necessary- to get that unmistakable shine.

4. ROCKSTAR WAVES

Hendrixroe models rocked the classic rockstar style, a mix between the bed-head and glamour look -without the stiffness and crunch. It was all about pumped-up manes, and locks that looked both soft and fierce.

This look can be achieved by curling the hair and then fluffing it. You can take an extra step and create crimped curls by going over them with a straightener.

5. EXTRA EMBELLISHMENTS

Not just for parties, jeweled hair clips are the Fall 2017 accessories du-jour. You can start off by putting one on the side of your head, or be bold and fix multiple mismatched pieces at once.

Pair the clips with textured hair to keep them in place for a long time and to prevent them from slipping and sliding out.

6. THE PONYTAIL

Ponytails are making their comeback this year. Done in rumpled texture or stick-straight, ponytails are now the new way to add elegance and ease to every look. Pro tip: Once you secure your ponytail with an elastic, try spraying hairspray onto your brush to smooth it over and banish any flyaways.
